Shadow Minister for Seniors Nicole Lawder will host an Assistive Technology Australia (ATA) pop-up event at the ACT Legislative Assembly today.

Ms Lawder said assistive technology is one of the great successes of modern technology.

“It covers everything from kitchen utensils to sensory aids for people who are vision and or hearing impaired,” said Ms Lawder.

“I am so pleased to host the team from ATA to showcase their incredible products to other Members of the Assembly and stakeholders.

The impartial, informed advice that ATA provides to seniors and people living with a disability is invaluable.

“Having that third party consultation with an organisation that isn’t a supplier is so crucial to finding the right assistive technology for a person’s individual needs and circumstances.

“Despite not having a permanent location in Canberra, the ATA team frequently travel and make themselves available to Canberrans, I thank them for that,” Ms Lawder concluded.

Event Information: The Assistive Technology Australia pop-up will take place Friday April 23 between 11:30am-2:00pm in the Reception Room at the ACT Legislative Assembly. Shadow Minister for Seniors Nicole Lawder and consumers in attendance will be available for interview
